When using a conventional metal detector, the ground mineralization interferes with the signal, which substantially limits the depth at which a nugget can be detected. The SD 2100v2, however uses Minelab's exclusive technology known as MPS or Multi Period Sensing. This enables the SD 2100v2 to minimize the effects of mineralization, to penetrate deeper, and to provide you with an interference free signal. This effectively has overcome the problem of ground noise, and it essentially only produces a signal on actual metal targets such as a gold nugget.

This unit is ideal for the beginner, couple or experienced prospector. Supplied with the versatile 11" Double-D coil (other coils available as accessories) and the ergonomically balanced "S-bend" shaft and the 12 Ah battery and pouch, makes the Minelab SD 2100v2 a comfortable, lightweight machine that still packs plenty of punch.

I used this detector for years before switching to a newer model and the SD 2100 is still one of my favorite Minelab Detectors for ease of use as well as pricing. This Gold Nugget detector will out perform the Whites TDI or Garrett Infinium hands down in the hot soils of most of our gold fields here in the USA or abroad!
