Trilby Wash L4-S1-W4, Maricopa County, Arizona This Stone Chondrite was found by William Southern on January 13th 2005 with a Minelab GP3000 metal detector while hunting gold nuggets. This Meteorite was classified at Arizona State University by Lora Bleacher and will be published in the next Meteoritical Bulletin. To date there is only 846.39 grams of this material found after countless hours of searching. All the pieces found so far appear to be from the same individual and were found within 50 feet of each other. The main mass weighs 465 grams and is pictured below with a 89 gram specimen that was donated to ASU after classification.
Inside this meteorite shows a beautiful burnt orange matrix with some interesting chondrules, some of these chondrules are quite large. There is also allot of visible metal as well as other interesting inclusions in this new meteorite. For ASU's classification report "click here" Below you will find some slices and small pieces as they were found for sale. There is not much of this material being made available so if you collect Arizona Meteorites and don't want to miss out on this exciting NEW find you had better act fast. |
Franconia H5-S3-W2, Mohave County, Arizona This Stone Chondrite was found by John Wolfe near Franconia Arizona on October 31st 2002 with the original find weighing in at 4.75 kg. It took about a year for more finds to be made both by eye and with the use of metal detectors making the area an official strewn field. To date there is over 100 kg of material recorded and research and collecting is still ongoing by some individuals including myself. All of the specimens for sale here were found by me with a metal detector and are 100% guaranteed to be authentic. Below is a photo of a 325 gram individual in situ (as found). Inside this meteorite shows a beautiful dark matrix with some interesting chondrules. There is also allot of visible metal as well as other interesting inclusions in this Arizona Meteorite. Below you will find some slices as well as some nice Stones as they were found some still have soil attached. I do not scrub or use chemicals and further cleaning is up to you. The prices are very reasonable for these nice specimens. |

Franconia H5, Mohave County, Arizona This beautiful Franconia specimen weighs in at a total of 1541 grams and is To date there is over 100 kg of Franconia H5 material recorded and research and collecting is still ongoing by some individuals including myself. All of the specimens for sale here were found by me with a metal detector within the Franconia strewnfield and are guaranteed to be authentic. The largest recorded of these irons is 59 grams with the average size being around 0.5 to 1 gram.
Some of these individuals have shown an etch and then others that have fully melted and reformed, also Troilite (troy' lite) inclusions can be found in cut samples. Below you will find some nice Franconia Irons as they were found some still have soil or caliche attached. The prices are very reasonable for these nice specimens. |
